Our mission

With a large team of highly experienced and talented SFX Technicians you can rest assured that your project will receive a thoroughly professional and personal team driven service. Constantly upgrading and adding to our Fx equipment we operate with the latest in technology when it comes to physical effects. We provide a wide range of Design and Engineering services from our workshop in Ashford and we can provide all types of Mechanical Rigs including Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electronics and more.

From breathtaking snow scenes to designing and building all sorts of mechanical rigs we have created them all over the years.

Scorpion Fx was formed by Paul Byrne to offer a fresh and exciting new approach to the world of Special Effects in Ireland and beyond. Having worked in many countries around the world we are always learning and always sharing our knowledge to our up and coming new team members as we look forward to seeing where the future takes us. Paul has being working in Special effects for over twenty years and has a background in Engineering and Commercial Aviation having achieved his Airline transport pilots licence in 2010 on Jet aircraft. He moved into Special effects from Engineering over twenty years ago as it was an natural transition from a problem solving background to the wonderful world of special effects.

My number one priority is and always will be safety. My day to day duties would typically include everything from script breakdowns, Budgeting, Problem solving, On set supervision. We operate as a very close team of people each with their own individual skill set that when combined as part of the overall team create an ideal combination to provide our clients with the level of service they require.
